Train-the-Trainer Programme

The Programme provides training to interested individuals who have a strong sense of commitment in sharing with others the importance of nature conservation. Various training opportunities under the Programme will equip them with in-depth knowledge in ecology, environmental protection, urban tree management or green living for this purpose. Upon completion of the course, it is hoped that participants will share the skills and knowledge with their circles of friends and play an important role of influencing other members in the society on awareness building for nature conservation in Hong Kong.


Current Training Packages include:

1. Eco – Guide Training Programme

Target: Outdoor leaders of NGOs or hiking groups
About the Programme:
Eco-Guide Training Programme aims to provide an advanced learning opportunity to people who are interested in becoming an eco tour guide and to share with others interesting facts and knowledge on Hong Kong’s ecology. The programme consists of a 2-hour seminar and an eco tour in Sai Kung.

2. Young Arborist

Target: Students (F.4 or above) who are passionate in tree conservation
About the Programme:
Young Arborist is an introductory programme on urban tree management in Hong Kong. It covers theories and concepts concerning planning, management and conservation of urban trees. The programme consists of two 2-hour lectures and two field studies in urban parks.

3. Green Housewives

Target: Housewives who are interested in green living. Group application (e.g. women’s associations) is preferred.
About the Programme:
The programme covers the concept of green living. Participants would learn ways to minimising their impacts on the environment in the daily life and achieving a more sustainable and high quality lifestyle. It also provides useful facts about organic and fair trade products. The programme consists of two 2-hour lectures, one 3-hour outing and a 1.5-hour sharing session.
