Come and make compost~!

As we know that landfills in Hong Kong will be full by 2015 but actually nearly 28% of the domestic waste including garden waste is recyclable. In order to further reduce the amount of waste, composting should be implemented in our society by educating the students in school.

Through this creative workshop, we hope to teach the participants to make compost and let them understand the concept and value behind the compost. Two different composting methods will be taught through the program.

We will divide the program into two different levels:

In the beginner class, participants will have chance to taste the method of making compost and it is welcome to lower form classes(P.1 –F.2) joining the program. The program will last around 2 hours.

In the advance class, participants will try to make the bucket and wire-net composting container by themselves. It is suitable for higher form classes (F.3-F.7) and the program will last around 3 hours.

All participants need to prepare composting material, such as dry/fresh leaves, vegetable leaves, skin of fruit, onion skin and etc, before the workshop. Pay attention that cooked material or raw meat is not suitable to put in the container!

Equipments for the workshop are listed out in the application form. It is welcome to give us a call if you have any enquires about the workshop.
