Joyce Chow has been involved in various planning consultancy works since completing her master degree. She has solid experiences in organizing community participatory activities, holding workshops and charettes for NGOs and private developers. Her major research fields include environmental management, urban planning, sustainable development, urban renewal, new town development and transport planning.  Her key job duties are to provide research support and report writing in delivering planning consultancy services on conservation and stakeholder partnership. She has performed as a key coordinator in various planning research, consultancy studies and capacity building for different clients, such as district councils and bureaus/departments of the HKSAR government. The topics of the consultancy planning projects are diversified and cover various aspects of town planning and environmental management including sustainable development, environmental education, conservation, community planning and regional development and integration. Besides overseeing the progress of the projects, her main responsibilities also include coordinating the team, preparing working papers/reports, advising on appropriate land development strategies, assisting in the preparation of planning policies.
