Before I studied in the University of Hong Kong (major in Ecology & Biodiversity), I, as a city-dweller, learnt about the nature through documentaries, books and the internet where my interest in nature budded. Unfortunately, I didn’t know much about Hong Kong local nature as most information was of foreign systems. Thus, I opened up my eyes in the 3 years of studying in the university, because it solved many questions about the nature in my mind. Meanwhile, I acquired the skills to learn and to analyze information related to the environment. In the summer of 2010, I have also visited Kenya and Tanzania in Africa to experience and learn about the local eco-tourism. Then with the sharing of joy and experience, I tried to let those have not been there to experience and feel the way we live could in fact affect the life on the other side of earth. That was education and information sharing. After I graduated from the university in 2011, I worked in the Lung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre. In this city backyard, I hope that some rarely known knowledge can raise people’s interest and then to more about our nature. Even more, to be a responsible and knowledgeable member of the global village!
